Kyle Conlon Takes The Overall Victory at the BITD Silver State 300

Kyle Conlon tears through the Nevada desert in last weekends Best in the Desert (BITD) Silver State 300.

 

Jimco’s were out in force for the BITD Silver State 300. The race festivities began on Thursday afternoon in Henderson Nevada to qualify for starting positions for Saturday’s race. Qualifying puts the best of the best in Trick Truck and Class 1500 together to see who is top dog and will win the coveted “Team Ford Pole Award”. This year the honor went to Chuck Hovey, driving his Jimco 2000 series single seat class 1 car. Hovey topped a field of over 45 in the 5 mile qualifying course. Jimco’s went on to claim 5 of the top 10 starting positions for the race.

Race Day: Chuck Hovey would lead the field physically from the green flag to Race Mile 190 where his day would end after he slid off the road. 8th place qualifier Kyle Conlon in his Jimco Champion 2-Seat car would assume the position of the first class 1 car on the road after Hovey was out. Conlon would continue to have a problem free day to take home the Overall Victory. This would mark Conlon’s 2nd overall victory (SNORE Battle at Primm) of the year, proving to the field that he is the one to beat. Jimco’s would end up filling 5 of the top 10 spots overall.

7th Overall Steve Appleton (4th Class 1500)

8th Overall Corey Keysar (5th Class 1500)

9th Overall Steve Strobel (4th Trick Truck)

10th Overall Garrick Freitas (6th Class 1500)
